This is a new type of power harmonic mitigation equipment developed using a parallel connection method (current-mode), modern power electronics technology, and digital signal processing technology based on high-speed DSP devices.
This is a new type of power harmonic mitigation equipment developed using a parallel connection method (current-mode), modern power electronics technology, and digital signal processing technology based on high-speed DSP devices.
By real-time monitoring the load current, the analog current signal is converted into a digital signal via high-precision, high-performance A/D conversion. This digital signal is then sent to a high-speed digital signal processor (DSP) for processing, which separates the harmonics from the load current to form a command signal. The command signal is sent as a pulse-width modulation (PWM) signal to the converter (compensation current generation circuit) to issue a driving instruction. The converter absorbs the positive harmonic current, charges the high-voltage capacitor on the DC side with the absorbed energy, and then releases this energy in a waveform with an opposite phase to the negative harmonics to offset the negative harmonics.
Technical features:
● Real-time following and dynamic compensation
It adopts harmonic current detection technology based on instantaneous reactive power theory to detect harmonic current in real time; through instantaneous current tracking control, it can realize dynamic compensation of harmonic current and automatically track the harmonic changes of the power grid, which is highly controllable and fast responsive.
● Flexible compensation methods
One machine has multiple functions. It can not only control harmonics, but also compensate reactive power and improve power factor. It can independently compensate a single harmonic source or collectively compensate multiple harmonic sources. It can also achieve harmonic control. Designate harmonics for treatment; can be used as a harmonic source.
● DSP intelligent monitoring
DSP high-speed detection and calculation ensures accurate and effective harmonic detection and compensation control; it also has intelligent monitoring functions, flexible device control, and clear operating parameters and working status; automatic fault diagnosis; with remote communication interface, real-time monitoring through PC.
●Advanced power conversion design
It adopts the latest IGBT high-frequency switching device, and the main circuit topology is a three-phase bridge type fully controlled PWM converter, which has the characteristics of small size, high efficiency and high reliability. Advanced multiplexing technology enables expansion of the overall machine capacity.
●Standard modular design
The power circuit and control circuit adopt a modular structure, which improves reliability and maintainability in use while achieving standardized production.
Suggested applications for active filters:
● If the harmonics are serious (>50%), only tuned passive filters or active filters can be used to control harmonics.
● The background harmonics are large, and the tuned filter is in danger of resonance or overload.
● If the power factor is high, the tuned filter will overcompensate, and the automatic switching device for reactive power compensation cannot be put into use, such as a frequency converter.
● High-order harmonics are serious and require high filtering effect.
● A new harmonic source needs to be installed and the capacity needs to be expanded.
● Neutral line harmonic elimination (3rd harmonic)—4-wire active filter
● Fast phase-separated reactive power compensation, thyristor switching speed cannot meet the requirements
